“I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me.” -Psalm 3:5
An experience like this is the high point in the faith walk of a believer. In the midst of grave circumstances in which David found himself displaced and hunted by his own son, he was, nevertheless, enabled by God to rest.
When God is our shield and the lifter up of our head, he gives us “untroubled slumber.” Even amidst the direst of circumstances, all those who trust Him to sustain them in safety will find sweet and restful sleep.
