“They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.” -Psalm 36:8–9
Not only do the children of mankind who trust in God get to take refuge in the shadow of his wings (vs. 7), but they also feast and drink from the abundance of the Lord’s house. This metaphor is worth meditating on. How abundant is the storehouse of the omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient King of Glory? How delightful and refreshing are his rivers? The Lord’s house is not scant; and his refreshment is not shallow. It is a fountain of life and the light that reveals the light (truth).
Let us come to the Lord and find safety. And not only safety, but also an abundant feast that can only be imagined if one could possible conceptualize the munificence of the creator of the universe.
