“He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend;” (Psalm 15:2–3, ESV)
The second criterion of one who will dwell in the Lord’s presence reflects the second commandment in Jesus’s summation of the Law and Prophets when he said to his disciples, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37–39, ESV)
A righteous man not only walks blameless before the Lord, but he loves his neighbor. The Psalmist tells us such a man would not slander his neighbor, do evil to his neighbor, nor take up a reproach against his friend. Jesus takes it a step further and says he will love his neighbor as himself.”
