“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;” –Psalm 1:1
The blessed or happy man is the one who intentionally walks in a certain direction. But here that direction is emphasized by denoting its opposite, that is, one’s departure from God; and it is emphasized in degrees of thinking, behaving, and belonging: not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.
Therefore it not only stands to reason, but is also confirmed by revelation, that whatever shapes our thinking will shape the direction of our whole life.
