“Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth.” -Psalm 2:10
Verse 10 is a chiastic parallelism with “be wise; be warned” as the central message. But it’s the two wings that remind us who is being addressed—kings and rulers.
If, in verse 9, the subjects are as fragile in their rebellion against the King as a ceramic vase is to the end of an iron rod, how much more judgment will come to the kings and rulers who have not only the willingness to defy Christ but the power and influence over others to do so?
Be wise and be warned, you kings and rulers!
