“Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.” -Psalm 2:12
This passage has long been the subject of much controversy, primarily for reasons of textual ambiguity. Yet, regardless of where scholars have landed after wrestling with the text, they all end up sharing the same basic idea: offer the King of kings a sincere kiss of homage!
In other words, in the high language of the court, we are called to choose our allegiance, and to choose it now.
Don’t wait to submit to God’s king lest he be angry and you suffer the consequences of your rebellion. Flee to King Jesus and take refuge in his grace and mercy, and flourish in the kingdom of his just reign.
